In Europe, hydrogen mobility is now a reality

Nanterre,

The year 2025 has been marked by numerous advances confirming that hydrogen mobility is a reality and is becoming a viable solution to decarbonize freight transport.

A rapidly expanding network of stations in France and Europe

TEAL Mobility continued to expand its network in 2025 with the opening of seven new hydrogen stations.

In France, two new stations were commissioned at the end of the year: one in Marseille-Fos, on a strategic industrial site, and one in Reims, on the A4 motorway. Each station, open 24/7, offers a capacity of one ton of hydrogen per day and fueling at 350 and 700 bar, meeting the needs of all H2 vehicles, particularly heavy trucks. These complement the Paris West station, located near Versailles.

TEAL Mobility also opened five new stations elsewhere in Europe: Leipzig and Nuremberg in Germany, and Deventer, Rotterdam-Capelle, and Utrecht in the Netherlands.

TEAL Mobility thus operates the first European network with 15 hydrogen stations across five countries: France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany.

In 2026, five new strategically located projects near major ports and key cities will strengthen the coverage of European logistics hubs, in Mulhouse, as well as in Duisburg, Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Berlin.

Supporting carriers and shippers toward hydrogen mobility

TEAL Mobility is a key partner in successfully transitioning to hydrogen mobility. We support carriers and shippers with practical solutions, recognized expertise, and astrong commitment to accelerating transport decarbonization.

Pioneers in low-carbon logistics already trust TEAL Mobility: Arthur Welter transports freight for CargoLux between airports, Vos Transport Group delivers automotive components for Toyota, DHL manages logistics for BMW Group, and Ludwig Meyer supplies the German retail sector. All now use hydrogen and refuel at our stations inthe Benelux and Germany.

In 2025, we strengthened our commercial teams: our business developers are present in France, the Benelux, and Germany to support our clients closely.

TEAL Mobility actively collaborates with all players in the hydrogen ecosystem, including vehicle manufacturers, to provide turnkey solutions and facilitate the integration of hydrogen vehicles into fleets. We also manage subsidy programs, such as the SWIM program in the Netherlands, which in 2025 enabled the funding of 50 additional trucks for our clients.

In 2025, TEAL Mobility also reached a key milestone with the launch of its H₂ card and the My TEAL Mobility portal, offering carriers a simple, secure, and European solution: access to all TEAL Mobility-operated stations with a single card, a single invoice, and real-time fleet management.

TEAL Mobility also works with other operators to coordinate and accelerate the joint deployment of infrastructure and vehicles. In this regard, TEAL Mobility co-founded the Hydrogen Infrastructure Alliance (H2IA) with five European players—Hydri, Fountain Fuel, H2 MOBILITY, Virya Energy, and HYmpulsion. This alliance brings together 92 stations and 39 new large-capacity projects, capable of supplying more than 1,800 trucks per day by 2028.

The arrival of new trucks to accelerate zero-emission transport

Manufacturers strengthened their hydrogen positioning in 2025. The deployment of the second generation of Hyliko heavy trucks, the arrival of leasing company Hylane in the Netherlands (in addition to Germany), the Global Hydrogen Mobility Alliance initiative (Toyota Motor Europe, Hyundai Motor Group, BMW Group, Daimler Truck), and the rollout of IVECO fuel cell tractors all confirm a desire to accelerate vehicle deployment.

2025 also saw the introduction of MAN internal combustion hydrogen trucks, a complementary technology to fuel cells. These hydrogen engines, zero-emission under European regulations, create immediate demand for H₂ stations and accelerate fuel adoption.

Certificates for competitive hydrogen and increasing its share in transport energy consumption

To meet climate goals, it is essential to make hydrogen competitive in Europe today. The implementation in France of the TIRUERT and IRICC certificates will reduce pump prices below €10/kg, making hydrogen accessible to carriers while encouraging a reduction in the carbon intensity of fuels. This approach will optimize public investments, support energy sovereignty, and enhance the sector's attractiveness. Delaying it could hinder investment and industrial momentum, jeopardizing Europe’s lead.

TEAL Mobility’s ambition is to stimulate the market by boosting demand through attractive pricing, especially for H₂  cardholders, who benefit from discounts tailored to their usage.

About Teal Mobility

TEAL Mobility, a joint venture equally owned by TotalEnergies and Air Liquide, develops a network of hydrogen stations along Europe’s main corridors. We build and operate the largest European network of hydrogen stations for trucks. Our H₂ card provides secure access to all our stations: one network, one card, one invoice.

Notes:

The Reims station received co-funding of 30% from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) under the AFIF scheme (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility). The Marseille-Fos station is part of the HyAMMED project ("Hydrogen in Aix- Marseille for Ecological and Sustainable Mobility"), supported by ADEME, the Région Sud, and the French government under the Future Investments Program (PIA). It is also part of the European H2Haul project, co-funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, supported by the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation
program, Hydrogen Europe, and Hydrogen Europe Research.
